To help you see more clearly, I have prepared a selection of the best establishments in Milan, downtown and outside, classified by districts and for all budgets.

Whether you want to be quiet or party all night, whether you are a couple or family,  I give you all the best deals to find your perfect hotel  in the coolest areas of Milan!

And if you want to know where to sleep cheap in Milan, you will also find your happiness at the end of this article!

So in which neighborhood do you live in Milan?

In the historic Duomo district

The Duomo district is the historic center of Milan. Any tourist who respects himself must indeed go to admire the famous Milan Duomo, which gave its name to the district.

I recommend this area to stay in Milan:

  • If you want a hotel right in the center of Milan
  • To discover the main historical monuments including the famous cathedral
  • If you have little time, you will be right in the heart of the action
  • As a starting point to visit Milan on foot

The city center of Milan is in return the neighborhood where hotels are the most expensive.

The neighborhood is the ideal place to discover:

  • The Duomo, as sumptuous outside as inside
  • The Vittorio Emanuelle II gallery housing shops of major stitch houses
  • The Scala of Milan, the famous building of the opera.

If you have the budget, the Duomo district is the best area to stay in Milan.

Here is our selection of the best hotels in the center of Milan

Hemeras Boutique House Piazza Duomo – from 190 €

Centrally located, Hemeras Boutique is less than 100 meters from the Duomo, in the heart of historic Milan. For this price, you can even benefit from an entire apartment and not a double room!

The apartments are modern, elegant and all include fully equipped kitchens. Perfect if you do not necessarily want to go out looking for a restaurant in the evening after a long day of sightseeing. Personally, I often opt for this type of accommodation with cooking in Italy, country where one finds very good cold cuts and cheeses. The ideal to have a picnic in love in the evening!

This is clearly our favorite for its benefit / price ratio in the Duomo district.
