1. The cliffs of Etretat – Upper Normandy

4. The Eiffel Tower – Paris
Built between 1887 and 1889 on the occasion of the Universal Exhibition of Paris, the Eiffel Tower was originally to be dismantled. Today considered as the architectural symbol of France, it welcomes each year more than 7 million visitors. A must if you go to Paris!

5. The creeks of Marseille – Bouches du Rhône
Typical of the Mediterranean, the creeks are particular geological formations partly submerged by the sea. It is in the region of Marseille that you will find the most beautiful examples, and in particular the Calanque de Sormiou, the Calanque of Sugiton, or the Calanque of Morgiou. The ideal to discover them? A boat trip from the Old Port of Marseille.

6. The Palace of Versailles – Paris Area
Former residence of the Kings of France and more particularly of Louis XIV, Louis XV and Louis XVI, the Palace of Versailles is one of the finest examples of architecture of the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, and French gardens. Do not miss to visit it if you are in the Paris region!

7. The dune of Pilat – Gironde
Located at the entrance of the Arcachon basin, the dune of Pilat is with its 110.9m the highest dune of Europe. A true wonder of nature, it attracts nearly two million visitors every year.

8. The desert of Agriates – Corsica
Wedged between the Mediterranean Sea on one side, and the mountain of Serra di Tenda, on the other, the desert of Agriates is not desert at all! It is instead occupied by typical Mediterranean vegetation and is home to beautiful beaches and coves with translucent water. Located in the north of Corsica, it is one of the most beautiful sites of the island!

9. Queuille meander – Puy-de-Dôme
Perched more than 250m above sea level, the village of Queuille offers a spectacular view of the winding Sioule River. This is one of the most frequently used images to represent the Auvergne region and it is easy to understand why. Wow!

No need to cross the Atlantic to discover a canyon with orange-red hues … Located in the Luberon, the Ocher Trail is a true geological curiosity and offers walkers an exceptional setting for hiking.
